What We Do

The Deep River Musical Society stages a piece of musical theatre every two years in Childs Auditorium in Deep River.

In 2001 we staged Jesus Christ Superstar (lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber) which launched DRMS and still has people remembering its powerful impact. In 2003 we had the Valley in stitches with a spectacular rendition of Pirates of Penzance. In 2005 we packed the house with a moving performance of Oliver!

In 2007 we staged another Webber/Rice creation: Evita. This was followed by a performance of Forever Plaid in November 2007. In 2009 DRMS presented Seussical, which was great fun for all ages. Then in 2011 we presented Macbeth: Shakespeare's brutal tale of greed and madness.

The DRMS production for 2013 is Les Misérables.
